what a weekend

This weekend was a hectic one that ended an even more hectic week.

Friday evening I ended up staying in Georgetown after work instead of coming directly home. I realized the stores really didn't have anything that I want and the necklace I was about to drop $35 on in Fornash I had all the materials at home to make it.

After finally getting home and relaxing for a while my trusty sidekick J and I decided to hit the town. I wanted to go to Tallula's but it was crowded since they featured it in the weekender, so we went to Tapatinis instead for a drink (had an excellent watermelon martini) then we shot to the other side of town and had dinner at Papa Razzi. By the time we got there it was close to 11 we ordered my signature drink (chambord and champagne) and in no time our food came out (it was soooooo good). After spending hours in there talking we decided to call it a night.

Saturday was a loong day. In the morning I had a meeting and a million and one errands to run in a 2 hour period. I got back home at like 1:05 and had to be at a wedding at 2. I am getting good because in that hour I had to pick out an outfit, iron, wash my hair, shower, diffuse my hair (so it wouldn't be dripping wet), get dressed, make my face up, sign their card and be at the chapel. I did well if I do say so I was there by 2:05.

The wedding was really interesting to say the least. It could really get an entry of it's own lol. It was also like mini high school reunion and it's amazing that people I hung out with like 5 years ago are married with kids and stuff. But yeah the wedding was nice for the most part, although there were a large amount of salty people there (I'd say 80 percent of his friends weren't invited to the reception but got an invite to the wedding that included their registry info... chez tacky).

So we had our own reception lol. We all went out and had drinks and and appetizers and had a little fun catching up. I had to exit that party early because I had a dinner party to attend. But the wedding really helped me see what I would and wouldn'tdo when my day comes (just gotta find the husband lol)

So it was dinner party time and yet again I had to go home and create another outfit and cook the dish I was bringing and wrap a gift in a short time frame. The dinner party was fabulous and the young lady that hosted it (my nutritionist) has a gorgeous house (I got a lot of decorating ideas) and the cutest little dog that weighs all of like 4 pounds. We were there a good 5 hours and ate, did a white elephant gift echange and had a great time.

Today has just been a lazy day. I haven't done anything extra productive. My mom and I went to visit my great uncle (who will be 104 in a few weeks) and when we got there he was like I'm tired and not in the mood for company lol. So we went to the mall. Well I guess you can call it a mall. I haven't been there in ages and don't think I'll be going to that particular mall anytime soon. My mom was like we'll at least you found a place that you can come to if you ever feel disconnected from your people lol.

The next few hours will be spent on reading (Hair Story), music (been listening to this classical cd box set I got) and my tv indulgence (Desperate Housewives).

I'm looking forward to this week. I have a half day Wednesday, am off Thursday and Friday I will be heading to NYC for the weekend to hang with my linesisters and get fitted for my bridesmaids dress.

Hope everyone had a great weekend...
