my weekend
So this weekend has been quite the eventful one. On Saturday I slept kind of late and then got and got dressed so that I could take my aunt and uncle (who is moving to Florida and who I spoke about before, when my cousins wife forgot to invite us to their going away party) to dinner at the cheesecake factory. I waited until my mom got from work and then we went to pick them up and went out to the new cheesecake factory in Clarendon. That area was absolutely beautiful there were lots of boutiques, sidewalk shops, a bookstore, and a gorgeous wine store, and my favorite grocery store (whole foods). Some how this area has been missing in my radar but will definitely be on my list when I'm looking for a condo/townhouse. Anyway we went in the restaurant and it wasn't crowded and we got seated immediately which is a rarity for the Cheesecake factory. We had a good dinner and it was lots of fun. I really wanted a mojito but my uncle is a minister and at times a religious fanatic so I stuck with the strawberry lemonade. But we had a good time and I think they totally enjoyed the evening.
Later that evening I called up my friend Jovonne and we were trying to figure out something to get in to. Last week her boyfriend went to this spot in downtown DC and said it was nice so we decided to go along with her roommate. So we get there and are greeted with lots of hello's and smiles from the three hostesses. It was looking kind of bare so we were like where is everyone and the girl was like oh they are in the back on the dance floor (lie number one). So we go in and we think we see some guys but upon closer inspection it's some manly ass women. So we joke and are like let me find out this is lesbian night. We order our drinks (I get one of my signature drinks, Chambord and Champagne) and we go sit in a booth. There is some house music going and we are like okay it's no men in here and it feels like some eyes are burning in to our skin. So we sit talk and my friend is facing the door and she tells us more people are coming and she's like its a couple a guy in a suit and a lady, then she's like my bad a girl in a suit and a lady. Then after the next few people come in we realize it's not a man in site but the restaurant manager. So we are like okay we can't run out we'll see how the music is and what they really do lol. So after seeing a woman that looks like Cedric the Entertainer grind on another women and seeing two other women in the flyest outfits dancing I realize maybe I'm not as comfortable as I say I am with homosexuality. Then me Jovonne and her roommate come to the realization that everyone in there thinks we are lesbians too, so our staring in fascination may be mistaken as staring in lust. Sure enough people start coming to the table talking about lets dance. We were not ready for that and my friend who was driving decided to call it a night.
Today we (the same three from last night) went to a cookout in Fort Washington Park that was put on by Jovonne's boyfriends sister-in-law and some of her friends. The park was full of interesting people of my color and a lot of nice looking men (there were actually more dudes then girls). It was a pretty nice event they had a band and free food (which is probably why it was like 400 people there) and things were cool. There were also ALOT of interesting outfits and things that should have been left in Rainbow. It was cool until the rain hit and my blow out started swelling up lol.
After that I came in and chilled a bit then ran to the store to get a few items to make my favorite grilled cheese (pepperidge farm oat bread, roma tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil) and saw that lean cuisine has a new margherita pizza and a spinach and mushroom pizza (this may not excite you but I I'm a foodie and love margherita pizza and spinach pizza) so I got a few boxes to try since they were on sale. In grad school lean cuisine was homie on those nights when I had class late or just didn't want to cook and those pizza's were so on point after my dance class. Anyway I also got some celestial seasonings indian spice chai. After my chai latte at Tryst last week I was like let me get some to make at home. I'm sipping on it now and it has some good flavor I added some soy milk to it and it's pretty good I just need to get me one of those frothers from bodum and I will have some perfect chai going on. Anyway I need to send out some resumes. So enough blogging.
goodnight
