thursday...
Today was a pretty good day. I worked all day as usual, for lunch I decided to take a stroll down M St. (and when I say down M St. I mean from like 32nd to 28th with all those avenues in between which is basically like 8 blocks) to go to this Indian spot for lunch. The food was fabulous I had chaka masala (spicy chickpeas), tandoori naan and chicken dopiazza. I'm glad we ate there and had to walk back otherwise I would have caught a case of the sleepies at the desk.
I worked all day and was supposed to have bellydancing class but they cancelled due to inauguration stuff (boooooooo). So I hopped on the train and went home. Today's ride was really interesting. There were tons of people on the train in evening gowns and tuxes going to all the balls and such happening tonight. It was cool to see ladies dressed up in furs and dripping in diamonds riding on the train next to kids coming from class listening to their ipods with their uggs and backpacks on and pissed people like me in heels dressed up coming from work. With all the streets closed we all had to cross paths today.
What was interesting was how nice the white people were to me. Not that white people aren't nice to me all the time, but extra nice. Offering me a seat and holding conversations. Why? All because of a brooch I have on my coat. Let me explain, last week was Delta's Founders Day, so I put my diamond elephant brooch with the ruby eye on my coat. So here I am with 3/4 length red wool coat, red leather gloves and an elephant brooch on my coat. Basically I was looking like a red state. So they were probably like wow she's a straight up rebel, not only is she black, but a republican and a radical republican who's hair looks like the chick that sings the milkshake song (that's what this white guy, Brett who was going to the Texas/ Wyoming Ball with his fiancee Amy told me my cool hair looked like).
So I finally got home assisted in cooking dinner. My mom made her "famous" spaghetti and I made a side dish that I found in real simple (I'm going to stop being addicted, I really am lol). My mom had me dying when she went to get some ice out the ice maker and a stick of butter fell out into her soda. Apparently it fell from the shelf into the bin where the ice is made and came out as a whole stick in her cup lol, at least it wasnt on crushed.
Now I am on the phone with Mr. Mafioso (I shouldn't call him that lol) who is trying to explain that HE isn't in the mafia just some members of his family *sigh*, watching Electric Orgasm (which is quite interesting these women are getting surgical devices implanted in them that they can control so that they can have orgasms during sex... thank goodness I don't need that hehe), and talking to one of my BAP friends Steph on IM.
Tomorrow should be good... Lunch at Bistro Francais, Happy hour with the Chica's in Georgetown, two friend's milestone party(ones turning 25 the other30), a frat party in Georgetown and lots of libations lol.
Well I am off to bed (once my show goes off). goodnight
