the morning after

Most know I'm not the biggest proponent of Valentines day. But I must say that yesterday was pretty good. When I got to work my boss had decorated our desks and had lindt chocolate truffles on everyones desk. For lunch I had anti-valentines day lunch at Chadwicks with co-workers. The only thing I was sick of during the day was hearing these girls in here fawn and brag over these awful looking roses. No I'm not hating and I wish I had a camera here with me to take pics of some of these sad arangements of 7-11 flowers sitting on desks. There was one lady who's husband went above and beyond though. They have three kids all under 5 and each kid came in the office with something different. One had flowers one had red and white balloons and another came in with a Tiffany shopping bag. Then the husband had a picnic basket and they all had a picnic in her office (that got an awwwwww from me).

On the train ride home it was interesting seeing women lugging their 1-800-flowers boxes and men trying to balance godiva bags, a balloon, roses and their briefcases on the train. I was so ready to go home and get ready to go to the gym and relax.

But that didn't happen. I broke my rules. I celebrated V-Day *hangs head in shame*. I hadn't planned on it really. I was on the train and my friend D text messaged me wishing me a happy v-day and we were having a regular convo and he asked if I would mind riding with him because he had to go out to his job (in Dulles Va) and was tired and needed company in the car. So me being boo boo the fool was like sure whatever meet me at my house. I got to my house and D was already there sitting in the kitchen talking to my grandmother and mom. Me still being the dummy was like dag you got here quick and really wasn't paying attention to the flyy I'm going out on a date type outfit he had on instead of his garb that he wears to work. So we drive to Virginia in the rain. We go to his job and he goes in for all of one minute and comes out with a bag that I see him throw in the trunk and then we head back home. So I thought.

He's like let's grab a bite to eat so we stop at Reston Town Center. I'm thinking we are headed to Ruby Tuesday or Uno's or something but instead we go to Morton's. I had a great great meal (the Filet Diane was on point and then the grand marnier souffle was fabulous). Then I got some teuscher champagne truffes... I hate chocolate but I love love love these truffes. So yeah D got a million and one cool points because I only mentioned maybe once in the time span I have known him about the truffes.

So yeah yeah I celebrated v-day with a guy. I broke all the rules and I apologize to all the ladies in the bah-humbug club with me. But I mean I was tricked and when a beautiful man is offering free food and the only chocolate that you like you can't really say no. haha

hope everyone's anti v-day was cool.
