no drama.. no excitement

I haven't written in a few days but not much has been going on. Just been busy with work and family life. Working out some kinks in the personal/relationship realm and working on saving more and spending less. I mean I save but I need to do better. Right now I just have my financial advisor automatically take money out my account to put in my IRA, money market account, CD's, etc. But I gotta do better saving on my own. Don't get me wrong I am my fathers child (some of his nicknames included tightpockets, tight wad, penny pincher, etc.), but one problem is that I am my fathers child lol. He used to 'spoil' me in a sense and I got whatever I wanted (except my horse) so I'm used to doing that now. If I want it and can rationalize the need I buy it or if I see it as a neccesity then it comes home with me.

I'm doing good though got the checkbook balanced and in order credit card balance is almost at zero and my only major debt is student loans which I haven't began paying (except my interest) *sigh*. I've been spoiled by my mom who claims she doesn't spoil me (at least not to the extent as my dad) because she gave me my car as a bday gift and she pays insurance, cell phone and my gas card bill. But since I'm more financially "secure" I shocked the hell out of her the other day when I told her I was going start paying those. I'm trying to be more of the adult I claim I am.

Also I gotta find a dentist. Does anyone know a good dentist in the DC area?!? My dentist of a million years died and my orthodontist moved to NY. I need to get a cleaning and I need my retainer realigned (yes I have a retainer... not headgear though lol). Also anyone know a good dermatologist lol ever since mine was featured in a magazine it's been like a 3 month wait to get an appointment.

time for me to go grab some grub and get back to work...
